Saturday March 12th
Kyle Royster of Murphysboro, Illinois, became the fifth different feature winner in five races on the Mini Magic Mile Saturday. Royster held off a charging Neil Shepherd until he spun late in the 25 lap feature allowing series point leader Nate Lauderbaugh of Kokomo, Indiana, to take over second place and tightly contest Royster to the finish line. Saturday’s race program had the non-winged micros in action for the first time. Toney Roney from Herculeanum, Missouri captured the inaugural feature followed closely by Dereck King of Vienna to the checkered flag. Phillip Bundren of Vienna, Illinois, took the lead on lap 2 and led the field the remaining 25 laps to become the sixth different feature winner in as many events at the Mini Magic Mile in DuQuoin, Illinois, on day two of the March indoor racing series. Bundren was followed past the checkered flag by Kara King also of Vienna and 2005 series point leader Nate Lauderbaugh of Kokomo, Indiana. In the non-wing action Neil Shepherd of Warsaw, Indiana, paced the field followed by Chris Windom of East Peoria, Illinois in second and Tony Roney of Herculaneum, Missouri, in third.
