A cool, brisk evening greeted both racers and fans as they entered Central Missouri Speedway, but the action on the track kept things hot as Patricia's Foods Race Night rolled off for round 7 of the 2004 Championship fight.

The driver making the most noise of late in the Mighty Modified division, Dustin Boney, once again found himself the one that everybody was trying to track down as he sprinted to the win. Boney rolled off for the A Feature on the inside of row two and from the outset it was a four way battle for the top spot between Boney, Steve Potter, points leader Gary Blackburn Jr., and James McMillin. Potter took the advantage at the drop of the green flag and was able to hold off Boney for the two rounds until Boney swept his swift #22 underneath to take over the top spot. Once out front Boney quickly distanced himself from the pack and had opened up a 10 car length advantage by lap 4. Gary Blackburn Jr. worked his way around Potter with Dean Wille and Dave Meyer quickly moving into the fray to the second spot. Lap 11 saw Boney's lead at 3/4 of a straightaway as Wille and Potter moved around Blackburn and back into the second and third positions. During the latter half of the race the field was slowed for a caution, but it didn't matter to Boney as he once again bolted to his sizeable advantage over his closest competitors. Dave Meyer made a late race charge as he had moved into third on lap 11 and then pushed his mount to second on lap 15 and began to attempt to track down Boney. It was to no avail as Boney zipped across the line with a full straightaway advantage to claim the win. Meyer was able to hold onto the second position with Gary Blackburn Jr., Dean Wille, and Steve Potter rounding out the top 5. Five heat races and two B features were contested to set the field for the A feature with Steve Potter, Gary Blackburn Jr., Dustin Boney, James McMillin, and Dean Wille holding on for the heat wins. Brian Johnson and Robert Kluender came out on top of the two B features and transferred on to the A feature.

Limited Late Model action saw two familiar faces up front as Kevin Coyne and Shawn Williams fought it out for the win with Coyne able to come out on top at the finish. Knob Noster's Jim Wilson was able to race from the pole position into the top spot as the race began, but Coyne wanted the position and moved his way up front on lap two. With Coyne out front and beginning to open up an advantage all eyes became fixed on Shawn Williams and Steven Clancy as they swiftly moved through the field from their 10th and 12th starting positions. Williams and Clancy found themselves in the top 5 by the halfway mark. Williams moved into the second position on lap 7 and quickly began to close the big gap that Coyne had built up. Coyne had his machine cruising out front, but suddenly he had all the pressure that he needed as Williams had worked up to his rear bumper. Williams made several attempts to take over the top spot, but couldn't make the pass stick. As the white flag waved Williams made one last run at Coyne, but came up short and Coyne was able to streak to the victory with Williams 4 car lengths back. Following Coyne and Williams across the line were Steven Clancy, Owen Evinger, and Jeff Jackson Jr. Jim Wilson and Kevin Coyne were able to hold on for the two heat race victories to set the field for the A feature.

Warrensburg's Marc Carter looked as though he was a man on a mission as he bested a stellar field as he was triumphant in the Street Stock division. Carter started outside the front row and quickly disposed of pole-sitter Bryant Moyer and stretched out his lead. A lap 4 caution for the flat tire of Sedalia's Gary Hemme did nothing to slow the pace of Carter as he once again established a comfortable lead when the green flag waved. With Carter out front fans had their eyes wandering all over the track to catch the two and three wide action that was happening through the field. The cheering quickly built to a roar as John Brooks moved his popular pumpkin orange #27 to the second spot on lap 11 after starting in the fourteenth position. Brooks began to reel in Carter and it appeared that another battle was brewing between the two until Brooks mount slowed on lap 12 with mechanical problems. Carter was able to sustain his lead over the last three laps and once again rolled his machine into the Winner's Circle. Bryant Moyer held on for the runner up position with Bob King, Bobby Raybourn, and Tammy Korff completing the top five. The A feature field was set through three heat races which were won by Bryant Moyer, Marc Carter, and Bobby Raybourn.

Join us again next week as Central Missouri Speedway presents Country Kitchen Race Night. This will also be round #2 of the Progressive $ for the Street Stock division. If a Street Stock competitor can win on Friday night at Missouri's State Fair Speedway and duplicate that feat on Saturday they will receive a bonus. Since the money wasn't collected during round one it rolls over making round two worth $666.00 dollars to the driver that can pull it off. The bonus is based off a minimum 20 car field.

Gates will open at 5:00 with hot laps taking to the track at 7:00 and heat races rolling off at 7:30. Adult admission is only $10.00 with Senior Citizens $8.00, Children 6-12 only $6.00 and under 6 are Free.
