Earl Pearson Jr. and Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports Finishes Second in West Virginia, Takes Weekend Off

Dunn, NC (September 19, 2006)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team coming off the heels of winning the 2006 World 100 at the famous Eldora Speedway competed on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the RaceFest World Championship at West Virginia Motor Speedway this past weekend. Driving the Dunn-Benson Ford, Lucas Oil, Sunoco Race Fuels, Larry Wallace Engines, Mastersbilt Chassis, Earl would win the fourth heat race and would start the feature from the fourth starting position.

Earl would battle for position in the top five for most of the 75-lap feature event that paid $20,000 to win. Earl would pass Donnie Moran for second place in the late stages of the event and held on to finish a solid second place behind winner Scott Bloomquist. In 2006 Earl has three wins on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and now leads Don O’Neal by 325 points in the 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship. Earl is the reigning 2005 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion and is vying for his third national championship in a row in dirt late model racing.

“We had a decent car finishing second and getting another top five finish. That is what we need to do to win this championship. I hate to see O’Neal have bad luck and not finish. I’d rather race him to win this championship, but we had some bad luck earlier this year as well. It has been a great two weeks for our team getting three wins and a second place and winning the World 100 on top of that. I have to thank my crew Jason and Matt for their dedication and hard work they have given me all year. Were all communicating real well and were having a lot of fun right now”, stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville Florida.

After winning the World 100 Earl has been the guest on numerous radio shows, interviewed for several print publications stories and will be featured in a special story on the channel TV-12 news station the local NBC affiliate in Jacksonville Florida. Earl will also be a guest tonight Tuesday September 19th on the popular motorsports talk show “The Race Report” hosted by Michael Despain out of Campbellsville KY radio station WVLC 99.9 FM. “The Race Report” motorsports talk show airs on Tuesday nights from 8-10PM EST and can be listened to “Live” on the Internet at www.wvlc.com.
