ARCHDALE, NC (April 1, 2008)- Earl Pearson Jr. driving the #44 Bobby Labonte owned racecar competed at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown IN this past Saturday in a 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Earl would start the night out setting the 8th fastest qualifying time out of the 61 competitors on hand for the event. Earl would finish 2nd in his heat race earning the 8th starting position for the feature event. Earl was confident in his new Mastersbilt Chassis that he brought to the event and his past win in the 2006 Icebreaker gave him additional confidence in his chances of winning again at the Indiana speedway.

Earl would move into the top 5 by the halfway mark of the 50-lap feature race and was running as high as third place late in the race. Earl battled with eventually race winner Terry Casey, Bart Hartman and Justin Ratliff in the late stages of the race going sometimes three wide for position. Earl would swap positions throughout the event and would finish a strong 4th place at the checkers. "My crew gave me a really good car tonight. I just couldn't get through the rough holes in turn three and four like Casey could. He beat us through the holes down there and was able to get away there at the end to win. We had a lot of fun racing with Hartman and Ratliff and got a solid top 5 finish. I'm looking forward to going back south this weekend to Georgia and racing where I started my career", stated Earl.

Earl and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team will travel to South Georgia this weekend and compete in three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events in three days. Starting on Thursday Night, April 3rd at the Swainsboro Raceway, Friday, April 4th at Screven Motor Speedway and Saturday Night, April 5th at the Golden Isles Speedway the team will compete all three nights with Thursday night's event paying $7,000 to win and Friday and Saturdays events paying $10,000 each to win. The event at Golden Isles will be taped by SPEED Channel and will be shown on a date and time to be announced in the future. Earl is the three-time defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national champion and is currently 3rd in the series national point's standings in 2008.
