ARCHDALE, NC (August 19, 2009)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team will travel to Tennesses this coming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events. Earl will compete at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Wednesday and Thursday for a two day $20,000 to win 100-lap feature event. Then on Friday Earl and the team will travel to Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for a one day $10,000 to win 75-lap feature event also sanctioned by Lucas Oil. Earl is currently second in the Series National Championship points standings just 225 points behind Scott Bloomquist with just ten events left on the 2009 schedule.
Earl and the team recently competed in two of the crown jewel events of the year with both events sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. On August 8t Earl competed in the Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY. The 100-lap feature event paid $50,000 to win. Earl would start from the front row on the outside pole but was shuffeled back on the first lap to 10th place in the running order. Earl would charge back to the front getting as high as second place before finishing a solid 4th place at the checkers.
Then on August 15th Earl competed in the COMP Cams Topless 100 in Batesville, AR. The 100-lap event paid $40,000 to the winner. Earl would win his heat race to earn the 4th starting position for the feature. earl would get turned sideways early in the event by another car and fell back as far as 14th. Earl would then charge back to finish a solid 7th place in the final run down.
