engine same as body??

Someone was asking me about the engine and body at tri city. I said I would find out for him. So his question was.."If you run a buick body do you need a gm or buick motor, and if you run a ford body do you need ford
motor etc." So I am coming to the site to see if anyone can answer this question. Thank you in advance.

Dave if your talking street stock which I assume you are. You can a Chevy motor in any GM full framed car. Wither it has a Buick, Chevy, Olds, Pontiac Body.
Ford is the same ruling. It must be full framed car with whatever Body Ford has.

Take Steve Stonesifor ( spelling ) for instance. He has a GM metric Chassis full frame with a firebird body. Its perfectly legal.

I believe at the meeting,they will allow a mopar motor in either a ford or gm body because chrysler hadn't had a full frame in decades....Good ? about a buick in a gm body??? Greg
