Essary Tops Spec Motor Challange At LebanonMidway/Morris Headlines Fastrak Main

Lebanon,Mo.-The LebanonMidwaySpeedway hosted a special Sat Night edition of Racing to close out the 2005 season as the rain-out feature for the Fastrak MidWest Regional Crate LateModels was held along with a special feature event featuring the Fastrak and the Show-me Racin Series Drivers came to ahead as over 75 race teams in the 4 classes ran.

Starting off the night,the 25 lap Fastrak MidWest feature rolled out with the Aug. Midway winner SCott Hutchinson starting on the pole with newly crowned champion Joe Morris to the outside.When the gren dropped,Hutchinson and Morris battled side-by-side as Matt Dusablon and Danny Jolly were battling for 3rd.On lap 3,Morris was able to pull away and pretty much put his Rocket Chassis on cruise control while the battle for 2nd was tight as DuSablon and Hutchinson battled until late in the race when DuSablon made a strong move out of turn 2 to grab the runner-up honors followed by Danny Jolly and Terry James in the top 5.

The much awaited 25 lap challange feature with each series running under there own rules would find Show-Me Series point leader Ken Essary and Danny Jolly on the front row with Joe Morris and Terry James making up row 2.At the drop of the green,front runer Bomber driver Rob White making his LateModel debut lost a driveshaft bringing out the yellow and restarting the field.On the second restart,back in the midpack,Fastrak Points runner-up Scott Hutchinson and Show-Me Rookie Jeremy Kelley got together ending both there nights along with Scott Fry.On the restart,Essary and Jolly ran side by side while Jim Fulp,Kevin Poole and Joe Morris were battling for position.On lap 3,The Flying Farmer made a low groove move stick to move ahead of Jolly as Morris started his forward movement.On lap 10,the yellow waved as Jim Fulp and Kevin Poole got together in turn 1 ending both there runs while in the top 5.On the restart,Essary would find Morris moving to the outside and challanging as the 2 respective Series point leaders battled and warming-up the action as Former UMP National champion Easy Eddie Dixon who started 13th on the grid was showing fans were the low groove was as he was driving Eric Rudd's car.Out in front Essary and Morris were showing what 2 veteran drivers were made of running bumper to bumper and side by side.MLRA regular Leslie Essary who started 7th was quietly moving to the front and passed Matt DuSablon and started his charge moving into 3rd and gaining on the long green run.On lap 21,Morris slide high in turn 2 and Lesie moved underneath to grab 2nd place and close to a single car length behind his father Ken Essary.The final caution waved on lap 23.All lead lap cars were brought to the front to battle it out including leader Ken Essary,Leslie Essary,Joe Morris,Eddie Dixon,Matt DuSablon,Terry James,Danny Jolly and Conner Ward.On the restart,Leslie looked up stairs,but the long time area champion Ken Essary wasn't to be denied making his first ever visit to the Midway as tight battles were behind the lead 3.As the checkered waved Ken essary hung on for a 3 car length lead followed by Leslie Essary,Joe Morris,Dixon,DuSablon,Ward,Terry James, and Danny Jolly on the lead lap while Joey Morris and Louie Baker Jr completed the top 10.

"This was a fun race and those crate motors showed me alot tonight.Running 50 laps in a single night and the tight battles throughout the feature.Really noone had a clear advantage tonight."Quoted winner Ken Essary."This was my first visit to the Midway and Harold had the track in excellent shape tonight.Smooth and quick with 2 good grooves.Considering how fast the track put this event together,It was alot of fun racing with these drivers tonight"

In other Action the FactoryStocks provided plenty of action as Jeff Duncan grabbed the early lead and Rodney Phillips right on his bumper.Tood cook began his charge to the front on lap 7 along with Robbie Bryant and David Hendrix battled also_Out in front,Duncan was looking for that first ever Midway win,but Todd Cook made the low groove stick strong on a lap 13 restart and gathered the win by 1 car length with Hendrix,Bryant, and Chris Ratterree completed the top 5.

The Winged SprintCar feature found Mike White jumped from his front row starting spot with Joe todd right on his bumper.With White setting a fast pace,Midway point champion started his charge late in the race and caught White on lap 12.A late caution bunched up the field as White again grabbed the lead with Eric Todd making a strong charge.Heading for the white flag,Todd drove along side of leader White only to have White lead out of turn 2.Eric Todd made a surge run in turn 3 and pulled alongside of the leader White as the duo came to the checkered side by side as White nosed ahead at the stripe with Todd,Joe Todd,Kenny Potter and Erik Enniking in the top 5.

The Bombers came out 23 strong as Robert White took the early lead.Dusty Rhoades who was driving point champion Dale Rodden's car would challange until a broken axle ended his night.With White hanging on to the lead,Brian Monnahan who had slipped to 3rd at one time.With a battle up front,Scott Atkinson,Donnie Jackson,Shawn Nations, and Steve Shaw along with Rick Brown were battling for position.Coming for the checkered flag,Monnahan made a bold top groove move pay-off as he took over the lead and the win at the stripe over White with Atkinson,Jackson and Nations completing the top 5.
