Just Spreading The Word
Zionsville, IN (June 2, 2009) “The MoonMan” Jim Moon and the MoonMan Racing Team enjoyed yet another good weekend of racing this past weekend competing in both the UMP Pro (Crate) Late Model ranks as well as the UMP Super Late Model ranks and as always, it was with the same car.

On Friday night “The MoonMan” made the trip to Farmer City Raceway to compete in the UMP Pro (Crate) Late Model division were he finished fourth in his heat race. After starting seventh in the Feature Event Moon was able to battle his way to a very respectable third place finish. Moon continues to hold the points lead at Farmer City Raceway as he has all year long with his closest competitor being 44 points behind in the chase for the Track Championship.

Saturday evening Moon and crew went to the “Mighty” Macon Speedway in Macon, IL to compete in the UMP Super Late Model division with his GM Performance 604 Crate Engine powered #1 Rocket Chassis Late Model. Moon qualified dead last but at the end of the night “The MoonMan” had battled his way to the front and picked up a third place finish against cars with twice the horsepower of his “little engine that could.”

“The MoonMan” and crew descended on Shepp’s Speedway just outside Alexander, IL on Sunday night to compete in the NALMS $5,000 to win Tri-Track Challenge event once again against some of the best in the business. After finishing fifth in his heat race Moon started the Feature in the 13th position. Moon advanced as high as seventh in the Feature, but received a “tap” from a fellow competitor mid way in the event and was relegated to a 19th place finish.

“We had a decent weekend”, said Moon in a phone conversation on Monday morning. “Things are going well and our goals in both the UMP Crates and the UMP Supers seem to be obtainable! If things keep going as planned we may really give everyone something to talk about, but we will have to wait and see how it goes from here” Moon went on to say.

As for the recent run-in with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Jim Moon will be posting an audio blog to share what he has learned with his fellow racers and fans. The blog will be posted in the very near future.

Jim Moon and the MoonMan Racing Team would like to thank all their fans for their continued support. As always, Jim Moon and the entire MoonMan Racing Team would like to invite all race fans to stop by the MoonMan Racing Pit area to visit and pick up your MoonMan memorabilia.
