Race fans at Warrensburg’s own Central Missouri Speedway will be able to enjoy reduced ticket prices on Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday as the ‘mighty” Modifieds and ULMA Late Model drivers enter their final night of preparation before the Labor Day weekend specials the following weekend. This Saturday night all adult tickets will be only $8 for grandstand admission for the weekly Modified, ULMA Late Model, Street Stock and B-Modified racing at the clay oval facility north of Warrensburg. If the weather permits, we plan to have a special all division driver autograph session at intermission on both sides of the track.

This is the also the final weekend both drivers and fans can purchase advance registration pit passes and grandstand tickets for the Labor Day weekend events. Drivers can receive significant discounts by registering early and fans can save as well with a combined two-night grandstand admission ticket package.

The racing action is heating up again on the high-banked track with the ‘mighty’ Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds engaged in their weekly races for the coveted feature trophies. Last weekend, Jason Thompson from Concordia won his fourth feature of the year in the modified division with current point’s leader, Aaron Marrant and the previous State Fair feature winner, Jim Moody hot on his tail. The modified drivers have a final chance to pre-register this weekend and save $50 through the early registration program for the $3,000-to-win Modified feature on Saturday, September 5. The registration includes a two-night pit pass for the driver and entry for the special feature.

The ULMA Late Model drivers are preparing as well for their Friday, September 4th feature event with the highest-ever $1500-to-win ULMA track special for the local Late Model association which supports local weekly racing for drivers and fans. Warrensburg Late Model driver and ULMA track point’s leader, Jon Binning stayed on the point this past weekend with a solid fifth place finish. Kevin Coyne, a former two-time CMS track champion became the eleventh driver to win a feature in this exciting class of drivers. Randy Ainsworth remains just 26 points behind Binning after a tough 15th place finish last weekend after some mechanical problems.

In the Street Stock division, John Brooks from Warrensburg won his second feature of the week last Saturday night at CMS when he beat Brian Johnson, the eight-time feature winner who still leads the points chase. The 2008 Street Stock Champion, Nic Bennett had a nice run from the tail of the field into a fourth place finish last weekend and remains in third place behind Michael Mullins in the second spot for the season points championship.
Jacob Ebert from Oak Grove had a nice run into third place last weekend solidifying his position on top of the point’s standings in the B-Modified division. Ethan Isaacs continues to keep pressure on Ebert finishing just ahead of him with a second place finish narrowing the lead to just 56 points between the two drivers. Bryan Montgomery also displayed some impressive driving skills after spinning early in the race to recover into a fourth place finish and he stays close in the chase in fifth for the points title. A. J. Tice won her first B-Feature at CMS and made a solid run into tenth place in the main event.

A special Thank You to all of the race fans, drivers and businesses for your generous donations for the annual Kids Night event at CMS last weekend. Over 160 children were able to take home a bag of school supplies, race related surprises and other items from your donations.
