Restart procedure, rainout policy changed for Deery Series

VINTON, Iowa (Jan. 8) - Restarts will have a new look this season in Deery Brothers Summer Series features.

Double file restarts will be employed in IMCA Late Model tour main events. The lead car will be alone in the front row while the second place driver will have their choice of inside or outside in row two.

"There has been an interest in double file restarts from drivers for several years. Many tracks do them on a weekly basis and now seems to be the time to implement it for the series," said Tour Director Kevin Yoder. "It will be more exciting for fans and gives drivers restarting at or near the back a better chance."

Single file restarts will continue to be used in heat races and "B"
features.

A change was also made in the rainout policy.

Should inclement weather intervene before all heats and "B's" are completed, those results will be scrubbed and a new set of qualifiers held if the show is rescheduled.

Previously, qualifying resumed at the point where the rain came during the original date.

Features must still make it to the halfway point to be considered complete.

In the event of excessive rain after the green flag and before halfway, drivers will continue to receive a pro-rated pay out based on their starting position. All feature qualifiers will receive 35 points.
