Friday night proved to be a hot night at the races, not only the weather, but the races as well. With 31 late models and 31 modifieds, the races were all any fan could ask for. Late model time trials had Eric Smith with fast time at 12.920 seconds. Smith won the first heat over Joe Harlan and Mike Mullvain. Second heat went to Steve Sheppard Jr at the flag over Wes Steidinger and Donnie Walden. The third heat went to Roger Long over Justin Allgaier and Richie Hedrick. The fourth and final heat went to Dennis Erb Jr over Matt Taylor and Ryan Unzicker. The semi was won by Chris Dick in an exciting finish over Rod Sandage and Rocky Griffin. The feature had Smith and Sheppard Jr on the front row, with Sheppard Jr taking the point, fighting off Smith, Roger Long, and Dennis Erb Jr for the first 20 laps. At the checkered flag, however, Sheppard Jr had to hold off the eleventh place starter Richie Hedrick for the win. Erb Jr slipped to third with Long and Smith rounding out the top five. Sheppard's $2,000 win made him the sixth winner in six races for 2006 season.

The modified feature was up for grabs, with none of the twenty starters having posted a 2006 win at Farmer City Raceway. The winner was thirteenth place starter McKay Wenger, who had gone to the top side to pass Marty Hiser at the end of the race. Third place finisher Randy Huffman had also started near the back and followed Wenger to the top side for another great run. Derek Neville, Jeb Freidman, Roben Huffman and Nick Neville rounded out the top finishers in this very exciting feature.
It was also announced that the World of Outlaws Late Model show will be run on Wednesday July 26, $10,000 to win with $1,000 to win for the modifieds.
