Thirty one late models rolled into the Farmer City Raceway Friday night and put on a whale of a show for the fans. Defending track champion Eric Smith turned in fast time at 12.828 seconds. With a tacky race surface, the heats were tremendous races, with three wide racing for the lead almost every lap. The first heat went to Joe Harlan over Eric Smith, Joe Ross Jr. and Chris Dick. The second heat went to Matt Taylor after following Jason Feger the entire distance with Taylor taking the lead coming off turn four for the win and Mike Mullvain and Roger Long right behind them. The third heat went to Brian Dively over Wes Steidinger, who got around Richie Hedrick also on the final corner with Michael Bradley close behind. The semi feature went to Jason Cleaver over Derek Chandler and Bruce White.

The feature was a real barn-burner again, with Matt Taylor taking the early lead, and holding the point until halfway, when he spun by himself, with second place Joe Harlan following him around in a circle. Taylor retired with a flat tire and Harlan went to the rear of the field. This put Richie Hedrick, who had started ninth and was running third at the time, into the lead. A few bumps later and Wes Steidinger was leading Hedrick with Eric Smith Jason Feger and Mike Mullvain all working hard for the second spot. Steidinger would go on to post his first ever Farmer City Raceway win, followed by Eric Smith, Richie Hedrick, Mike Mullvain and Jason Feger. Steidinger then thanked all his fans in the main grandstand by doing a high speed donut right in front of them and spraying them with pea gravel, then stopped, and did it again, covering even more with gravel the second time.

The modifieds put on a great show of their own, with heats going to McKay Wenger over Matt Goulden and Al Crawley. Heat number two went to last place starter Danny Schwartz over Derek Neville and Bobby Fowler. The third heat went to Roy Obermeier over Dennis Wilson and Nick Neville. The final heat went to Jeff Leka over Denny Schwartz and Randy Huffman. The feature was a wild one, as Leka took off from his outside front row starting position and started building up a lead by lap six when his car broke and he retired for the evening, leaving Danny Schwartz in the lead. Matt Goulden and McKay Wenger wanted that front spot and Wenger ended up taking the lead winning a very fast race over Danny Schwartz, Matt Goulden, Randy Huffman, Denny Schwartz, Al Crawley, Matt Bachman, Wes, O'Dell, Bobby Fowler, Derek Neville and Jeffrey Curl.
The sportsman race went to Wes O'Dell in a close contest over Greg Kimmons, Jimmy Dehm and Terry Worth.
There were 146 cars in the pits
