Friday night saw a new, old familiar face in victory lane, with former track champion Joe Ross Jr coming off a two year slump in convincing style. Ross Jr led all 25 laps, mostly under hard pressure from the defending champion Eric Smith. Current points leader Matt Taylor started off the night with fast time of the 26 late models on hand at 12.771 seconds. The heats were some hard charging events, with Taylor holding off a fast Richie Hedrick and Rocky Griffin in the first one. The second heat went to Joe Ross Jr in another fast race over Eric Smith and Rod Sandage. The third heat went to Darren Miller over Brian Dively and Jr Shickel. The semi feature went to Chris Dick over Jeff Byers and Lindell Jewell. The feature started off with a first lap tangle by the second row consisting of Freidman and Hedrick, also involving Jason Cleaver, all three were done for the evening. At the restart, Ross Jr took off in the lead and was never headed. Eric Smith was second with Brian Dively, Rocky Griffin and Mike Mullvain rounding out the top five.
