Twenty four Late Models put on a great show for the fans Friday night at Farmer City. Billy Drake jumped to an early lead in the feature, only to give it up to Steve Sheppard Jr on lap nine, after nine laps of side by side racing. Point leader Eric Smith nosed his way past Sheppard on the 21st lap for the lead and went on to win the feature with Sheppard second, Drake third with Michael Bradley and Joe Ross Jr rounding out the top five. Billy Drake had fast time, with heats going to Drake, Sheppard and Smith. The semi went to Mark Anderson.
unofficial finishes:
1st heat Drake, Ross Jr, Chris Dick, Jr Shickel, Darren Friedman, Tim O'Donnell
2nd heat Sheppard, Mike Mullvain, Linden Jewell, Greg Timmons, Virgil Nussel, Brian Claudnic, Butch Smith

Street stock heats went to Jimmy Smith and Lee Byers. The first heat saw Chris Tackett survive a wild flip, going every which direction as many as 5 times. The car was not as fortunate as the driver.

Sportsman heats went to Mike Petersak, Todd Schmitt and Chuck Mitchell. The feature went to Petersak over Greg Kimmons and Nick Macklin. This was an exciting race as Mitchell raced Petersak hard until Mitchell spun after taking the white flag in second place, and still recovered to finish eighth.

The thirty two modifieds in the pits also put on quite a show. While the winners share of the purse has been hogged by the first two guys in UMP national point all season, Leka and Schwartz, things changed a bit tonight. Gary Cook Jr started the eveing by setting fast time. Then Cook won his heat over Scott Bull and McKay Wenger. The second heat went to Lance Dehm over Jeff Leka and Derrick Neville. The third heat was won by Denny Schwartz over Jeffrey Curl and Nick Neville. Danny Smith won the semi over Bill Gianetti. In the feature, Lance Dehm again showed his strength, leading the first lap, only to have Gary Cook Jr power past him on the second lap. Cook would lead the rest of the way, with occasional challenges by Dehm. Scott Bull finished third with Derrick Neville and Jeff Leka rounding out the top five.
