Old Mans Garage FASTRAK Late Model Series returns to Travelers Rest Speedway April 17th!
The Old Mans Garage FASATRAK Late Model Series will make its way back to Travelers Rest Speedway on April 17th for the “SC Pro Late Model Clash”. The Series has not been at Travelers Rest in the past three years so the show is expected to be a sold out event.
Current track promoter Andy Hyde has made considerable improvements at the track including tons of new clay providing a smooth track with 3 and 4 wide racing. The track has made overwhelming changes and just this past weekend featured 123 cars present with the grandstands almost filled to capacity.
The series in 2010 has seen drivers like Jonathon “Superman” Davenport, Jeff Cooke, “Rolls Royce” Royce Bray, “Rambo” Dennis Franklin, Parker Herring, Chris “The Man of Steel” Steele, “The Bull” Ron Parker, Timbo Mangum, “Lightning” Lee Cooper, David “Hollywood” Smith, Chris “Moonshine:” Chandler, Vic Chandler, Anthony Sanders, Blake Bentley, David “Bad Boy” McCoy among many others. Keep in mind the local teams from Travelers Rest Speedway are among some of the best in the country. Drivers like Travis Blackwell 2009 Speedway Champion, Greg Pilgrim, Keith Pilgrim, Wally Fowler and “Hot Rod” LaMance, will all be tough to beat along with all the other competitors there.
The night’s events will feature 2 lap qualifying, positioning the drivers for the 3-5 heat races locking some of the teams into the Main event, then proceeding on to the possible B Mains making up the rest of the 24 car field. The teams will roll onto the front straight as they proceed to do the “4 wide salute to the fans” with the fireworks going off heading into the first BIG SHOW of the speedway in 2010. “I can’t wait to see 24 late models on this track” said Andy Hyde Promoter of Travelers Rest. “The track will be ready for the teams assuring a smooth racing surface. I can guarantee the fans will see the best show yet at TR in 2010 this coming weekend”.
