The FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance is gearing up for its tenth race of the 2018 season at Toccoa Raceway on Saturday night, August 25th. The 40-lap feature will pay $2,000 to win, with a total purse over $10,000. Drivers are encouraged to bring hero cards, as they will participate in a driver autograph session during intermission of the program.
As the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance Championship battle continues, Matthew Nance of Ronda, NC is currently leading the standings. Nance has finished in the top five six times so far in 2018, with only one finish outside of the top ten. Brett Hamm, of Rock Hill, NC is currently second in points with three top five finishes. Ross Bailes, of Clover, SC, is third, with two wins and five top five finishes. Corey Almond, of Appomattox, VA, is currently in fourth with one top five finish in 2018. Brad Basey, of Augusta, GA is fifth and is also leading the way for the 2018 Rookie of the Year.
Last year saw 2017 Champion Benji Hicks open the season with a win at Toccoa Raceway on April 1st. Jensen Ford picked up the win when FASTRAK returned to Toccoa on June 17th.
After Toccoa, the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance will head to the Virginias for the 4th Annual East Coast Rumble on Labor Day Weekend. The East Coast Rumble will have stops at Beckley Motorsports Park, Tyler County Speedway, and Wythe Raceway. Each of those three races will count as two for FASTRAK members who are trying to get to seven races to be eligible for the 2018 FASTRAK World Challenge.
