The FASTRAK Racing Series names a new Vice President as the 2008 season rolls around, Doug Gillenwater. A long time friend and affiliate of the FASTRAK program, Gillenwater is the newest addition to the staff of the fastest growing racing series in the country. Gillenwater was the former General Manager of the world famous Volunteer Speedway, better known as “The Gap” located in Bulls Gap TN.
“This is home for me” stated Gillenwater. “Not only have Stan and I worked together with the FASTRAK crate late models but we became great friends. FASTRAK has grown so quickly I don’t really see how Stan has maintained. It was time for some additional staff and I am just glad to be a part of something like this. This is a great organization. Where else can you build a $10,000 - $15,000 race car and have a legitimate chance at a $50,000 to win National Championship? There are programs being put together even for this season for National television, new engine programs for winged sprint cars in 2008 and in 2009 our brand new Super Late Models. You would be amazed at everything that is being worked on in the FASTRAK office. I was. Stan stays pretty quite about things until they happen but the future is very bright for FASTRAK teams, tracks and sponsors as well as the employees of the company. I am really excited about being here”.
Gillenwater will be in charge of the day to day activities of the FASTRAK organization. Lester will step back from the daily activities and instead concentrate on marketing, real estate assets purchasing along with new engine programs and classes.
“FASTRAK is very fortunate to have Doug as our Vice President” stated Lester. He brings a lot to the table. Everyone in the industry knows and likes him. He brings to us the ‘track side’ of the industry while at the same time being involved with FASTRAK through tremendous growth. He has accomplished a lot of things in the racing industry and I look forward to that knowledge helping us to continue to make the correct decisions about the future of FASTRAK. We have in the last two weeks accomplished some amazing things already. Some of those will be announced at our banquet next week and some are forthcoming. They will all be exciting for our teams, weekly sanctioned tracks and sponsors. I would like to mention that I appreciate the support of both Phyllis and Joe Loven of this move. We are all great friends and having their support was important”.

All teams utilize Goodyear Racing Tires as the “spec tire” allowing teams tremendous savings in both engine and tire expense. The National Championship of the FASTRAK RACING SERIES is one of the largest in the United States totaling over $350,000.00 for the 2007 season.
