Federated Auto Parts @ I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 releases 2016 schedule

It will be a good show the stands will be the place to be

It is almost impossible to get a WoO show that doesn't go up against some other big late model show somewhere, unless it is very early spring or late fall. I-55 thought they had a date on Oct 1, but the UMP Fall Nationals at Eldora was put on that date. There were just no other dates that worked.. The old Pepsi Nationals date is now the weekend of the Knoxville Late Model Nationals.

So now the I-55 Nationals are dead because of Knoxville? Wow, things keep changing after many years of running.

As a fan and long time supporter of I55,this is a great idea and great race! Complaint about the track not supporting local racers in this case is not valid or needed. The outlaws where originaly scheduled in October but because of road construction the date had to be changed. Plus as posted above in past years low budget local racers have set out big shows at Pevely. This will be a great race hope the stands are full for this.

If I were a local LM racer I would look forward to an opportunity to compete with the best around and consider making the show a victory. Or take a weekend off and enjoy a beer and a great show from the stands. Jmo

Dude, saying this is bad for the local racer is not the truth. It presents an opportunity for them to race the big dogs and have a shot to make the show. Once you're in the show being a regular at I-55. You could advance in the field knowing how the track will change. Look at the yellow 16. He has vast experience at these local tracks. One car I rarely ever see anymore is a black 13. Why is that?

The driver of the 13 has retired from racing to pay more attention to his family.

I have talked to a number of local racers and none of them are happy about this. Call me crazy but you run a business you keep your clients happy. These races could have been run separately. Putting them together doesn't bring any more big guys to the WOO show. Those guys like Babb, Pierce, Feger etc etc would have been there anyway. If you disagree with me fine. I do not bitch just to be bitching! I speak out for the racer whether it's about UMP or a promoter and I don't discriminate as the Marlers are my friends.

Sounds like it's going to make it a way better race than it ever would've been. Sure maybe the bottom half of the locals won't stand much of a chance but they get almost every other weekend to do their thing. Almost Every other class usually loses a night or two of the season from a scheduling matter. Having all the WoO regulars if I'm not mistaken Richards, lanigan, mccreadie Clanton bshepp, JD eckert, as well as the SN hitters WOW it's going to be a heck of a show! Can't wait.

Has anyone ever watched national touring racers against locals? Big money doesnt tend to drive around the slower local, but rather thru them. If I were a local guy that considers a top 5 a great night, my car stays parked. If Richards drives thru you in the heat race, he sure as shootin isnt gonna come down and help you fix what he broke. Makes more sense to save it for another night as most local guys cant pull out a backup car.

What your gonna see is the same as what youd see at a stand alone WOO show. Babb, Feger, Moyers, Pierce, all those guys would be there regardless. What will be missing is the support racers. The field filler guys that help pay the purse, both locally and SN tour guys. Teams that consider a top 5 SN finish a huge success will likely sit this one out as well.

Should be a great show if your a fan of late models. Ill be watching, but cant blame anyone who doesnt want to tear stuff up.

Thats how some of the locals drive too, so not much different. Problem i see with it is there was gonna be two $10,000 to win $500ish to start shows now you combine the two races into one so theres one less decent paying show. It will be a field similar to the WoO races in the past.

The question I have is why didn't they want to compete against the fall nationals at Eldora? Who would you lose to Eldora, Pierce? Only a few locals make the 8 hr. drive out there. It would have been a good field as there won't be any races around.

Lanigan, T-Mac, B-Shepp and JD run Lucas.

Here's what everybody is failing to remember is the woo series is nothing like it used to be so the locals that would run a s/n should still run it.. Because it's only Clanton Richards Eckert Chubb Heckenast Jr and maybe Shirley will be the only woo Heavy Hitters!!!!!!

I understand from a driver's point of view especially if that driver say is 2nd or 3rd in summer nationals points with woo there but from a fan's point of view it will be a great show I know I plan on being there
