Ferguson eyes FASTRAK Racing Series Championship at Screven
Carson Ferguson will look to put the final touches on his 2019 FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance Championship this weekend at Screven Motor Speedway. Competing full time for the first time on the tour this year, the already two-time FASTRAK East Coast Rumble Champion, Ferguson looks to continue the consistency he has shown throughout 2019.
“At the start of the season, we were just wanting to stay consistent and click off wins when we could,” said Ferguson, “Winning the three races in a row was a momentum builder.”
Ferguson set a torrid pace winning three races in a row starting on Memorial Day Weekend in the FASTRAK Triple Crown at Friendship Motor Speedway, which was his first career FASTRAK win. The next race at Toccoa Speedway saw Ferguson reach victory lane. Ferguson claimed victory in the eventful USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway, extending his winning streak to three.
Consistency has propelled Ferguson to the points lead with eleven top-tens and ten top-fives through thirteen races on the FASTRAK Racing Series powered by Chevrolet Performance. Only twice this season has Ferguson finished outside of the top-ten.
“It all goes back to the shop work, me and my dad and the two other guys, Cameron and Ethan, it’s just us in the shop,” stated Ferguson, “A lot of late nights, but it’s all worth it in the end.”
Ferguson is also looking to claim the Speed51.com FASTRAK Rookie of the Year, as it is his first full-time season the tour.
“Racing the tour has definitely helped us,” said Ferguson, “We’ve been able to start off fast everywhere we go and I feel like this season I have really grown as a driver. This has been our biggest season, we’ll be going for two wins down at Screven.”
