Firecracker 4 Crown Late Model Series This Weekend!

COLUMBUS, MS- The inaugural Brown Engineering Firecracker 4 Crown Late Model Series will come to fruition over the 4th of July holiday weekend. A four race swing through the Deep South will see Super Late Model competitors compete four nights in a row with $2,000 to win and $200 to start 40-lap main events taking place each evening. The weekend will offer over $8,000 possible to win plus a points fund for the top five drivers after all four races are complete. Robert Brown of Brown Engineering in Aberdeen, Mississippi has come on as a title sponsor for the highly anticipated campaign.

The events were established through planning and the cooperation of area promoters as the four race swing will begin on Friday night July 2nd at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama then move down to Johnny Stokes’ Columbus Speedway on Saturday night July 3rd. Action will shift north up to Pine Ridge Speedway in Baldwyn, Mississippi which is just about 15 minutes north of Tupelo for traditional Sunday evening action on July 4th. The Firecracker 4 Crown Series will head east and culminate at the historic Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Tennessee for a Monday evening affair where the series champion will be determined.

Needless to say the intersectional series should draw the top talented regional drivers from Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi into competition throughout the weekend hopefully providing for a unique mix of race teams for the fans and also provide the drivers with an opportunity to test their skills at a variety of race tracks with the challenge of taming differing racing surfaces and talented competition. The tracks on the series are all relatively small in nature but nonetheless some of the best in the south. Promoter Jeff Greer continues to lead the resurgence of the North Alabama Speedway which is undeniably one of the best kept secrets in the country as “The Action Track” lives up to its moniker and has become synonymous for providing great racing. Fans and drivers know to expect a thrill ride of a show at Johnny Stokes’ Columbus Speedway as the high banked 3/10-mile oval is a fan favorite for providing “get down” action at “The Baddest Bullring in the South.” Pine Ridge Speedway in Baldwyn, Mississippi has made great strides under promoter Michael Mauldin as “The Ridge” is known for providing a family atmosphere and fun for its holiday weekend events. The finale’ at Winchester Speedway which is under the direction of Tim Smith and Dennis Bowling should be a good one as Middle Tennessee fans and teams traditionally flock to the popular mid-town oval in droves to cap off a great holiday weekend of racing. For more event information, fans and teams should contact their local track manager or website for upcoming details.
