St. Charles, MO - Fourteen year old Will Hicks has been tweaking his driving skills for the past three years kart racing all across the country. In his three short years of racing, he has earned twenty-five feature wins and has qualified for some of karting's elite events, including the World Karting Association's Nationals at Daytona, Florida and the Indoor Karting Nationals at Tunica, Mississippi.
Now with the insurgence of crate engine late models throughout the Midwest, Hicks has the opportunity to bring his racing talent to the short tracks in a dirt late model. They were able to purchase a 2005 MasterSbilt that was driven by Ray Guss, Jr. last season and a new GM crate engine for much less money than the price of a super late model engine by itself.
Hicks has registered to compete with the Crate American Racing Series (CARS) in 2006. He plans to compete at tracks such as Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL; Mt. Vernon Raceway in Mt. Vernon, IL; Godfrey Speedway in Gofrey, IL; Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY and at some other tracks as well.
Hicks' sponsors include Guardian Life, Tom Shaw Realtors, Gateway Construction, Performance Racing of Peoria, IL and Sign Masters.
