Freddy Smith made the trip up to the Dream 100 last Friday and Saturday at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Freddy had problems in the first round of time trials, then got the problem fixed and made it out for second round and qualified 41st quickest out of 142 entrants with a 15:792 seconds. Freddy finished 5th in the fifth heat race on Saturday, and finished 15th in the "B" Main after having more problems on the # 00 mount.

The 52 year old veteran Late Model driver will return to action this Friday Night June 17th at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin as part of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series/WDRL co/sanctioned Masters event paying $10,000 to win. Saturday's event in which Freddy will compete will also be another Lucas Oil/WDRL sanctioned racing event paying $10,000 to win (part 2 of the Masters event). On Tuesday night June 21, Freddy and team will head to the Davenport (IA) Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned $7,000 to win event. On Friday night, Freddy will head south to the Belleville (KS) Highbanks for a $10,000 to win Lucas OIl Late Model Dirt Series/O'Reilly TORA co/sanctioned event. Saturday will be the last of the 5 stops out west for Freddy as he will head to the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska for another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil/O'Reilly TORA sanctioned event.

Alot of racing over the next two weeks for Freddy and team as the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee hopes to capture the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship title at the end of the season.

At Eldora Speedway last weekend, there was a statement released in one of the track's publications stating that this would be one of the last times to see Freddy at the Eldora Speedway, and that Freddy would be retiring after this season. This is not true, and Freddy Smith would like to let his racing fans know that he plans to continue his racing and he would sure let everyone know if he is going to retire from the sport.

Freddy's sponsors on his # 00 GRT/Gaerte powered Dodge Intrepid include White Oaks Motorsports, Red Line Oil, Cliburn Tank Lines, Kinzer Well Drilling, Bradley's Wrecker Service of Charlotte, NC, Hoosier Racing Tire, and Volunteer Trucking.

Freddy is currently 12th in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with 1135 points right behind Shannon Babb with 1145 points. Don O'Neal currently leads the points standings with 1980 points over Terry English with 1845 points.
