Freddy Smith to Debut First Retro Scheme of 2006 at the "Colossal 100" This Weekend

Freddy Smith will debut his first “40 Years of the Southern Gentleman” retro paint scheme this weekend when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series takes to the track for the Inaugural Circle K "Colossal 100" at the Dirt Track@Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. Activities will begin on Friday Night, April 21 with time trials and heat races with Saturday Night, April 22 scheduled for the C and B Mains along with the 100 Lap "Colossal 100" paying $50,000 to win and $2,000 to start. 36 cars will start the A-main event and the total purse is $200,000.

In 2006, Freddy and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are celebrating "40 Years of the Southern Gentleman" at race tracks across the country this season. Freddy will debut his first retro paint scheme re-created by Bart Radar of Banshee Graphics this weekend at Lowe's with the famous 00 on the side of the car that Freddy piloted in the early 90's with a predominately orange color with a blue strip.

Arizona Sport Shirts, the Official Souvenir Manufacturer & Vendor for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will have available this weekend new apparel which features Freddy's retro scheme. Also on sale at the Arizona Sport Shirts Souvenir Trailer will be the new Freddy Smith shirt that features the car Freddy is currently competing on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Freddy Smith is a legend in dirt track racing and in 2006 marks his 40th year of racing competition. Freddy is the proud owner of 782 career feature wins and is the only driver to win five Dirt Track World Championship events. He is also a member of two Hall of Fames, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame at Florence Speedway in Union, KY and the Lowe's Walk of Fame at The Dirt Track@Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC.
