Is that place going down hil or what. They kick the late models out. Gads what a mess All tracks need a fast class. What the heck is going on can someone tell me. A sudden change and BOOM late models ur out of here.

well, I heard that they couldnt keep them because...1)they werent attracting but like a 10-14 a night and...2) they couldnt afford them any longer! When you dont draw enough cars that people dont come and watch, it hurts your money situation, so the owner prolly went in the hole every week just paying the late models! Look at it this way...maybe the money they save from the late models they can put towards having a higher payout for the UMP Modifieds! And I will be honest with you, I dont think the track was big enough for the late models, I went 2 times last year, and they bascially just beat the hell out of each other!! Hopefully, they can draw some good modified drivers next year, I might come more often, and I only live about 3 miles from the track.

I'm sure everyone would love to see the late models there but like dirt said they couldn't afford them with the low car count at this time. And if you were there after they replaced them with the hobbies and doubled the late model car count the stands were packed every week as well.

goin downhill?

I thought the late model races were awesome there, but hey the Mini-stocks are the Show anyway:D

ECONOMICS RULE- EVEN WEST PLAINS SPEEDWAY HAD TO DROP THE WEEKLY LM SHOW- MANY TRACK HAVE GONE TO HAVING LM'S AS A SPECIAL SHOW-

fast class

nothing against the latemodels but the modifieds are right on there heals. the modifieds took the place of the latemodels and put on a better show.

We didn't want to lose the late models.. It just came down to a simple dollars and sense (not cents) thing. If we kept the late models the track would not have survived overall.

Also like Wolf said, the modifieds (and hobby stock/sportsmen) put on some fantastic shows. They are now our FEATURE classes and will be treated as such. The result will mean bigger payouts for the classes, more cars in the pits and more people in the stands while at the same time actually cutting the payout. I hope that helps people understand where we are coming from.

By the way, one other thing to keep an eye out for at Fredericktown. I think we are going to be leasing parking spaces at the track. Because we are anticipating around an average of 75 cars in the pits per night (and anyone who has ever been there can tell you how tight the parking in the pits can be on big nights) we are going to get the pits better organized while at the same time providing some "start-up" funding for the track. The money will be used for track improvements including the stands, pits, parking areas and more. If anyone is interested in one of the pit parking areas you should contact Terry Flanagan at (573) 783-3901 and put your name on a list. Those spots I'm sure will go on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Thanks folks,
Millsey

No, we're going to nail people twice!! Plus, if you are from Fairview Heights we're going to add an extra entertainment tax... We've been informed that people from Fairview Heights can contaminate your racetrack and create a funk..... LOL...
