Following a long talk with Denny Keith this morning, it has been decided the Fredericktown Raceway will be closed for the 2005 season. According to Denny he is planning on making improvements to the track during the summer and reopening in 2006.

Especially when it happens over and over and over again. I hate to see a track close...for any reason. Unfortunately, I'm sure ALLLLLLLL of us (who aren't niave) saw this coming. Terry did a terrific job in 2004. Too bad he wasn't given the opportunity to continue to improve The Rock.

I'll be going to I-55 this year and WILL NOT return to "The Rock" no matter what happens in the future!

I'd like to make it clear that I do not have anything against The Rock, they run a pretty decent show down there, but if you don't know what the future holds for the track it seems a waste of time to really be dedicated to going there every week. I'll take my chances elsewhere that has a proven track record. J.M.O.

Dog, what you are expressing is EXACTLY why I begged Denny and Terry to come up with some sort of comprimise. Once a track is closed, people are forced to change their racing habits. This region is WIDE OPEN for a good Friday night track that features the larger cars (late models, sportsmen, modifieds, etc.).

I agree with you totally! :D
