Inside Line Promotions - LONGVIEW, Texas (April 15, 2014) - After taking last weekend off, Cody Freeman will return to the track this Saturday at the 3 rd annual Nolan Wren Memorial.

Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, will host the event, which Freeman posted a 10th-place result in last season.

"We want to improve on our results over last year," he said. "This is one of the largest races we'll see this early on. It's our first measuring point with strong competition. This year we're going in with the objective of a top-five finish."

Freeman has earned back-to-back podium finishes in his micro sprint and this Saturday could be the next stepping stone.

"It was only my fourth time in a micro last year when I was thrown to the wolves," he said. "We've learned a lot since then. We've made a lot of positive changes. I think having a year's worth of experience is going to be on our side."

Freeman noted that the mental aspect will be key to earning another top 10 and having a chance at a third consecutive podium.

"It's really going to come down to my overall mindset," he said. "I feel like we're going to have the car. It's just staying focused and hitting my lines because it is a long night. It's being able to maintain that focus going into the feature."
