Bruce Damewood is Gateway's King of the Track

Bruce Damewood (Macomb/Springfield, IL) won Gateway International Raceway's King of the
Track All-Star Event. Damewood received an NHRA "Wally" Trophy for winning the NHRA
Member Program event.

Damewood won his first career "Wally" by beating the all-star field of Jason Phillips (Granite
City, IL), Paul Hagen (Fenton, MO), and Ron Rathgeb Jr. (Godfrey, IL). Damewood beat
Rathgeb Jr. in the final round by .0011 seconds.

"I knew it was close, when I saw the win light, I knew I was getting my first Wally!!!," said
Damewood.

Damewood, who also won Gateway's Pro Bike Division on Friday almost didn't stay for
Saturday's King of the Track Event.

"I had a big money race scheduled for Saturday, but decided at midnight on Friday night after I
won the Pro Bike Race to race on Saturday for the Wally"

2004, Damewood was both the Mid-State and Havana Track Bike Champion. This year he is
competing at both Mid-State and Gateway. At Gateway he currently has two Pro Bike wins and

Brendan Holzhauer and Jennifer "Jo" Costello win Round 2 of the
Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout

Brendan Holzhauer (Nashville, IL) and Jennifer "Jo" Costello (Carlinville, IL) each bounced
back from their first round losses in the first Holzhauer Summer Shootout by winning their
classes on Friday Night. Each driver propelled themselves into second place in their respective
classes in the Holzhauer Summer Shootout Points Standings.

Holzhauer cruised through four rounds of 8 and 9 year old competition to take his second win in
two weeks. Holzhauer beat Kirk Lorenscheit (St. Louis, MO), Shootout Points Leader Brad
Scott (Rochester, IL), Kelsey Beimfohr (Edwardsville, IL) and Kevin Fisher (Monroe City, MO)
in route to his victory. Prior to Holzhauer's two week winning streak, he hadn't won a round of
competition in 2005. Brad Scott retained the 8 and 9 year old points lead and is now followed
by Holzhauer.

Costello battled through six rounds of 10 years and up competition to win her first race at
Gateway this year. Costello beat Micheal Zerr (Moscow Mills, MO) in the final round. Zerr
was also revenging a first round loss in the opening Holzhauer Summer Shootout Event. Zach
Kerr (St. Peters, MO), winner of the first Shootout race, lost in the first round and therefore lost
his points lead to Austin Suhre (Worden, IL), who got through three rounds of competition.
Suhre is followed by Costello, Kerr, and Zerr in the 10 years and up Holzhauer Summer
Shootout points standings.

The Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout consist of three points' races with the first place
winner in each class taking home a $1,000 prize. Holzhauer Auto and Motorsports Group has
sponsored the events on June 10 and July 8, with August 12 set as the finale. The overall winner
in each class will be announced following the August 12 race and will receive a $1,000 savings
bond. Savings bonds in the amounts of $200-500 will also be awarded to the second through
