Gateway International Raceway Crowns the 2005 Weekly
Champions
Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway hosted their final race of the weekly racing
series this past weekend and crowned champions in all the racing divisions.
Clay Tyler (Wood River, IL), the 2005 Carl's 4 Wheel Drive and Performance Pro Class
Champion, clinched his first championship prior to this weekend's events and could concentrate
on just racing. That concentration lead to his fourth win of the year.
Charles Willis (Florissant, MO), the Street Bike Champion, and Zach Kerr (St. Peters, MO), the
Jr. Drag 10 and up Champion, each used good performances this past weekend to take the lead
in their respective classes and win their first track Championships at Gateway.
Meanwhile, King of the Track and Pro Bike Champion Bruce Damewood (Macomb/Springfield,
IL), Super Pro Champion Jon Tignor (Hillsboro, MO), Street E.T. Champion James Bouckaert
(Arnold, MO), High School Champion Sarah Bryant (Litchfield, IL), and Jr. Drag 8 and 9
Champion Jacob Blumentstein (Breese, IL) all held on to their leads to win their class
championships. For Blumenstein, it was a repeat performance of his Championship last year,
while Bouckaert's championship was the third of his career.
