Gateway International Raceway to Host the Second Annual Holzhauer Jr.
Dragster Summer Shootout and to Expands its NHRA O'Reilly's Jr. Dragster
Program
Gateway International Raceway had many exciting announcements at their
Jr. Dragster Banquet at the NASCAR Speedpark. The Banquet was
highlighted by the announcement that the 3-race Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer
Shootout will be returning to Gateway. Brad Holzhauer, President of
Holzhauer Pro Motorsports, has decided to enhance the Shootout by adding a
heads-up 330 class.
Gateway also announced some enhancements to their 14-race weekly
O'Reilly's Jr. Dragster Program, announcing that they would be expanding to
three weekly classes, splitting it's 10 and up class into a 10-12 and 13
and up classes. The weekly payouts for each class will be $50 to the
winner and $20 to the runner-up.
The Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout will be contested on June 9,
July 7, and August 11. Making the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer
Shootout even more attractive, the dates have been paired with the O'Reilly's
Jr. Dragster Challenge, which will be held on June 9, and the Drag News
All-Star tour, which will be held on August 11. The Holzhauer Jr.
Dragster Summer Shootout will pay $150 to the winner of the three weekly
classes and $50 to the runner up. In addition, there will be a Shootout
Championship for the three race series that will pay $500 to the
Champion, $250 to the runner-up, $150 to third, and $100 to fourth. The
Holzhauer 330 heads up Class will award $300 to the race winner, $200 for
the runner-up, $100 for third, and $50 for fourth. The 330 heads up
class will also compete for a Holzhauer Shootout Championship.
Gateway International Raceway will also once again be the host of the
Drag News Jr. Dragster Halloween Nationals on October 6-8.
