Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway would like to announce two hot story opportunities in
one session. On Tuesday June 27 at 2:30PM, Gateway International Raceway will be performing a
"Drifting" Exhibition, and in addition will have cast members from the hit TV show PINKS in
attendance to do TV interviews and stage PINKS-style races for media members. This is your
opportunity to do a story on drifting, the sensation that is taking over the young, hip nation, and the hit
TV show PINKS as it invades the Midwest.

Drifting Exhibition
Drifting is taking the country by storm. This motor sport which was made popular in Japan is not based
on who has the fastest car nor runs the fastest times. Instead the basis of drifting is pure style and show
factor. The key to drifting is keeping the car in a controlled slide and sideways as long as possible,
preferably through multiple turns, performing several stunts in the process.

Gateway International Raceway organizes Drifting events as part of their Midnight Madness programs.
The purpose of Midnight Madness is to take illegal street racing activities off of the street and onto a
legal racing facility with proper safety requirements. Midnight Madness manifests one Friday a month
from 8PM to 3AM, with the next event occuring Friday June 30. The event includes St. Louis Style
Outlaw Street Racing, burnout contests, the stlriverfrontradio concert series, motorcycle stunts, the
STLSR.com Expo Area, the Bugeyetech Racing Simulators, and much, much more. Drifting was
incorporated into Midnight Madness because of its growing popularity, so much so that it is the theme of
a new movie Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Pinks
Gateway International Raceway will host 4 TV shootings of the hit SPEED Channel TV show PINKS.
The tapings of the shows will occur on Tuesday, June 27 and Wednesday, June 28 beginning at 6PM
each day. PINKS uses the setting of a classic 1950's drag race, pitting contestants in a best three-out-of-
five format, with the loser handing over the title (pink slip) to his or her vehicle. The rules are simple:
two vehicles show up and drivers negotiate head-start distance in car lengths. The cars line up after they
warm up their tires and Rich Christensen starts off each race. After each round, the drivers have the
opportunity to re-negotiate lengths. All events are run on approved tracks with safety personnel present.
