MADISON, Ill. - For as long as Gateway International Raceway has been
in existence, there have been two constants: Great racing and Ken
Roberts from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to cover it. Roberts, or K-Rob as he
is known by his peers, is the lead motorsports reporter for the
Post-Dispatch and on Friday, Aug. 31, he will give the order to fire the
engines to kick off the ARCA RE/MAX 150 as the race's grand marshall.

Roberts not only covers the events at GIR and other NASCAR and NHRA
races around the country, but is also a source expert on the local
dirt-track scene and writes a weekly motorsports column for the Post-Dispatch
and its website, STLToday.com. He said he was surprised at the
invitation extended by GIR General Manager and Vice President Lenny Batycki.

"I was shocked when Lenny asked me, but it only took me two seconds to
say 'yes,'" Roberts said. "I'm honored to be the grand marshall and
have been warming up my vocal chords. I can't wait for Friday night."

Batycki said the choice was an obvious one. "K-Rob has been a great
voice in the media for our track and the events we hold here," Batycki
said. "We wanted to show our appreciation for the years of great coverage
he has provided for not only Gateway, but for racing all over the
region. We just need to make sure he gets from our stage back to the media
center as soon as possible so he can immediately go to work covering the
ARCA RE/MAX 150 for the Post-Dispatch."

The green flag for the ARCA RE/MAX 150 is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 31. Great seats are available for that event, as well as
the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 on Saturday afternoon,
by calling 866-35-SPEED or by visiting GatewayRaceway.com.
