Go karts $40,000 in cashand prizes this weekend Macon Speedway

Historic event races into Macon Speedway.
(Macon,Illinois) For over 65 years Macon Speedway has hosted many major events, with many different types, sizes, and shapes of race cars. But never before has Macon Speedway hosted a Burris Thunder Tour with over 400 Go Kart entries. Not only will this event be historic for Macon Speedway, but for the Burris Thunder Tour as well as it will be the richest purse in the tours history. And it will be the first time it has a kids extravaganza included in the weekends events.

The Burris Thunder Tour travels all over Illinois and Indiana drawing Go Karts from 28 of the 50 States and as far away as Canada. On June 21st, and 22nd the Tour makes its stop in Macon, Illinois at the rich in history Macon Speedway. The grounds of the Speedway will be packed as over 450 entries are expected to take part in this event stated Kyle Urbasek, the tour Promoter stated. For the first time the Burris Thunder Tour will break the $40,000.00 purse and prizes for a single event. Go Karts are not a stranger to the Speedway as they had events here before. "But nothing as big as this" said one local driver. The teams, drivers, or Speedway will be in store for a first but so will the kids. This event will also host a Kids Extravaganza which will be a first in the Tours history. The Kids Extravaganza will be threw the entire weekend. There will be pit tours, games, sports, candy drops, and a ton of give aways. The Kids Extravaganza is completely free after the purchase of a general admission ticket. Urbasek Insurance Service Inc. and SavMor Pharmacy are proud sponsors of the Kids Extravaganza as they have donated all the prizes. The prizes range from bikes, event shirts, $100 and $50 Visa Gift Cards, and the Grand Prize of a remote control car valued over $250.

Friday gates open at 1pm and Qualifying around 7:15pm. Saturday gates open at 8am and features starting around 5:30pm. General Admission for both days is only $5 and kids 5 and under are free.
