Go Karts and Quarter Midgets set to invade Macon Speedway 8/3

(Macon,Illinois) In just a few hours the town of Macon, Illinois will be invaded by one of the largest guaranteed purse for a single go kart race that it has ever seen (outside Summer Shootout). The Unilli Money Series is set to run its fourth out of five races this Saturday at the "Worlds Fastest Fifth Mile". Macon Speedway stock car divisions historically takes the first weekend off in August due to the Decatur Celebration, and a special weekend for Go Kart racing gets its chance to take the big stage. For the promoters of this special weekend, Tommy and Dianna Bennett will promote the 6th Annual Hartung Powerwash Nationals. This event each year has hosted over one hundred karts and this year should be no different. With the threat of rain out of the picture now, the entire focus shifts to what will be one of the greatest kart shows in the Midwest in 2013.

The Go Karts are becoming a more familiar thing around the Speedway as this will be the second huge event for karts as the first was the Burris Thunder Tour in late June of this year. The Hartung Powerwash Nationals will be the sixth year in a row it has been held at Macon Speedway and with the addition of the Unilli Series it could be the biggest yet. The Unilli Money Series which pays $1000.00 to the winner and $500.00 for each position for second threw fifth for the Adult Clone 380 division with a no kart minimum will join all other racing divisions which include the UAS Opens who will be racing for Regional points this year as well as $200 to win with a 15 kart minimum, and $100 bonus to the winner courtesy of TT Bone Extreme Karting. Wing Sprint karts will also be racing for the same prizes as the UAS Opens. The Adult Clone 360 and 400 class both paying $500.00 to the winners if they get twenty or more karts in each division. The Jr1 Clone class will be racing for $250.00 to win if there are fifteen karts or more in this division. Other classes will include Cadets, Jr1, Jr2, Jr3 flathead, Jr1 and Jr3 Clone, Stock Light, Med and Heavy, 6.5 Opens, and Animal Lite. And for the first time ever on the Speedway will be Quarter Midgets, Any other classes are welcome to run as long as there are 3 or more karts. The Unilli Money Series brings not only the greatest purse for a single go kart feature that Macon Speedway has ever seen, but Unilli Tire will be giving away a choice of a FREE set of Unilli Tires or a FREE pair of Limited Edition Unilli Karting Gloves.
