I will forever feel that empty feeling you feel when losing someone close. Most people don't know that Jeff and I go way back. Most think of Jeff as being involved w/BRSD since the late '90's, but he was more than a reporter to me. Jeff Mills was my bus driver when I was a kindergartner. He branded me "his lordship", but come the following year I had a new driver. A decade later, we met again...
The Jeff Mills I will remember is open & honest, generous & genuine. Jeff never once refused to help me with anything I asked and I always tried to do the same for him. It's gonna be hard getting through the season, the off season; day in and day out not hearing his interesting outbursts or canny song creations, most of all the singing of "Whistle While You Work" in reverse just so he could say sh!t ! (LMAO)
*Jeff, you touched more people's lives than you would ever admit to. No one will ever be able to live up to your reputation. I already miss you bunches. Sara & Nick are beside themselves and Blake (my sweet boy) doesn't know yet. I think it will be extremely hard for him to understand, as if it isn't hard enough for me and the rest of the world. But you two have a unique friendship (I think) and that will make it harder. Peace be with you, my friend.*

this is a sad day for the entire racing family, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Mills family and all his friends. Jeff has done more for Big River than any other person will ever do. You will be missed!

This is all correct, and I hated to have to tell some of you via email, but I didnt think that it wouldve been appropriate to have posted it on here. Thank you to all who have made jeff part of there lives both on the track and off the track. We will miss him very much and will definately be saddened by this for along time to come
