I was there. Do you make up the rules?? NO, let the people do their jobs it might not have been a right call but you dont make those decisions. Ed was gaining but he was pushing his car at the same time which made him make mistakes, but I do believe he would have caught him by the end of the race!

Godfrey actually made the right call if you go by the rules. It was a bad situation, Shirley got screwed, but he ran a h*ll of a race!! I've got to hand it to him - he can hold his temper - if it were me, I'd have been searching for McQuerry in the pits. McQuerry needs to go to driving school, get some serious practice in and get better control of his car or give up racing - the guy is a WEAPON!!

I could not of put that much better. Everyone tends to think Ed is just given a victory. Have you ever seen Danny and them work so hard on that car? They keep the wins for them-selves and they win them by their-selves

just be happy that the crew at Godfrey busted their humps from daylight to race time to even have the ability to have a show at all. Races started a bit late, but under the circumstances I have absolutely no issue with it, and anybody that does (in my not so humble opinion) is just trying to find something to complain about.
Every single year the first race night is a bit rough around the edges when it comes to both drivers and track personnell. I am more than confident that these issues will get worked out in the near future Good job to Chad and all of the people who helped get the first night in the books.
BTW... I have no affiliation at all with Godfrey Speedway, or anyone that works there, just thought the people behind the scenes that made the racing possible needed a pat on the back.

Brian Shirley and Ed Dixon are both awesome drivers, Dixon has a TON of wins, and Shirley although not at it nearly as long was "fast out of the box" when he moved up and continues to turn heads.
Although I dont pick either of them to win the points at Godfrey this year, They both will take a bunch of checkers throughout the year like normal.
