GODFREY, IL: Exciting 410 winged sprint car racing returns to the Godfrey Speedway in Godfrey, Il October 15 for a $2000 to win and $200 to start event. The event will mark the only sprint car event held at the clay speedway this year.
Godfrey Speedway, a slightly banked quarter mile oval, has hosted sprint cars on numerous occasions in its history. In recent years, the track has played host to the annual Illinois Sprint Week and SCRA tours held each year for the open wheeled machines.
Godfrey's close proximity to both Jacksonville, IL and Farmington, MO should attract a large field of sprint cars for the October 15 show.
UMP modifieds running for $500 to win and 600cc micro sprints running for $400 to win will also be in competition on the 15th.
Adult tickets are $15. Children 7 - 12 are $5. Kids 6 and under will be admitted free of charge.
Pit gates open at 4:30. Spectator gates open at 5:00. Hot laps are at 6:30 with racing starting at 7:00.
