Green Weather

Races called off last week because of weather, I guess it was green weather?? Trouble at the top?? Come on guys lets get the track motivated! Calling the races put you behind the proverbial 8 ball. We are now leery about the track, should we go or do something else on Fri. nights. It would be less costly for us to go other places, say out to eat, movie, buy a new car, ect. We like to race at Benton, even with the long pull and cost of fuel. Let`s build that brick wall that says we are here to race on Fridays!!

Mun..

You are always so polite, and well spoken.. When what you really mean is, "Get your sh!t together and give guys a place to race if you want to stay open!! "Or.. Why cant we all just get along?? Fact is... Its not just Benton, its Fredericktown, Poplar Bluff and SFCR. Wait.. Montgomery County.... Are there any more?? Without established and an ample supply of $$ in the kitty, most tracks will suffer, and have for the last few years. We dont have the NASCAR bucks to dispose of, nor the fan base of a larger population. I dont know the solution, but am willing to help figure it out.. We all want a place we know we can go race.. As of now car counts are down in many classes. Some classes are being weeded out or only run a few times a month.. When a track decides to only be open on select dates they give theirselves the death sentence. If a racer cant depend on the track, the track cant depend on the racer. And vice-versa. Sounds like a big circle doesnt it?

I don't see what is going on behind the scenes or the financials but SFCR has had all good shows. Good car counts and the stands are pretty full every night. Sometimes very full. And without a doubt some of the best racing I've seen in years anywhere. That is why I've made the drive for every show this year even though two of the mentioned tracks are closer. From where I set I don't see them struggling at all. Certainly shouldn't be lumping them in with tracks that can't fill two heats per class.

5 bucks

SFCR stands were full on $5.00 night, also their were more mod`s and maybe more P S & sprints for that show. More people=more sales and I would think more profit with soda pop, food, and the drivers push their cars harder, better racing for all. With fuel prices at only minimal cost but going up, more people will drive less and $5 will get them a great show. Its great to see the stands full. Everybody come out again and see some great racing!!!
That is what I was trying to say, thanks 302, you get to the point.
