Gremlin for Sale

I've got a newer project that's going to take a lot of my time. So I am considering letting the Gremlin go. If you are interested PM me for phone # and we'll talk. Really nice car for its age and the period it was built. Needs to be finished. Would consider some trades. Don't need anymore projects though, and ABSOLUTELY no 4 wheelers!

whats dollar price and what do you nee in parts pm me

What do you want for it?I know a interesting fact that includes that car if it was Buzz's white mod he ran at Farmington

I'd really rather not discuss price on open forum. I don't know if the car was white, I did not get a body with it. I do remember Buzz having a light blue #43 modified. If you have any history on this car I would appreciate anything you could tell me. Seems like everyone on this board is pretty tight lipped about sharing info.

It's very discouraging isnt it?
If the history isnt shared we lose it, and those drivers become nothing but a bunch of guys that drove old cars that no one remembers.
"Forgotton heros"
It's a shame aint it.....

It's not lost,it's just simply not knowing who to talk to.Jeff Masson told me that frame looked like the one Buzz drove in 1987.It was white that year he thinks.Top five in the modified were Mosier,Beard,Jordan,Masson,&Buckley.

Jeff Masson read it.He always talking about the old days.As a matter of fact he still has his car from that year.He also has Billy Beards old car, that Ronnie Sales bought new.He told me he was going to let Billy race it this year.It is restored the way it was when Billy bought it off Sales.Sales was more cooperative than Buzz,He supplied Jeff with pictures.

Yes it is very discouraging. I've asked a couple of times about info on this particular car. Down here in Southeast Missouri there were no open wheel mods. We had to go up around the StL area to see them. Most people around here don't know the difference between this gremlin and the lunar rover. I'm not being fussy or anything, but one of the reasons I thought this board was here was to discuss the old vintage rides. I've had this car for sale for a couple weeks now. I'm about to talk myself out of selling it. Between tire kickers, people wanting parts off it, and those thinking I'll just give it away, I might just keep it. I really would appreciate any one who knows anything about this car to please share the info. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Old Mods

I'm glad someone is trying to keep the past alive! Keep up the good work.Old times were good times, too bad some people will never understand. Drivers and mechanical ability meant more than $$$!:(

How much do you think you are wanting for this old Gremlin?? I would like to come see it if at all possible. PM me and we can chat. Thanks!!

Danny-
Maybe we need a new forum, perhaps this one is just for the "Gateway Gang".....

Maybe so spazzy13, after all you ARE in the forum created for the Gateway Vintage Racing Association. Obviously the "gateway gang" cares about these old rides or we wouldn't do what we do! But I personally don't have very much info concerning Buzz's car. I am sure, however, that the person who sold this car to Danny could probably provide some if not all the info that has been discussed here... As far as those "in the know" reading this, I can't put a computer in their lap or I would!

IMO, I'm sure this was the white car and the blue car was the same car just a different color...

Amen, biker. I agree totally. How different racing would be if everyone had to build there own car....

Sorry if I come off sounding cranky, but after watching the Gateway cars at Doe Run and Malden this year I've got the itch to do it too (and I thought I had the racin' urge under control for the past 25 years.....)
So tell my wife it's not my fault - Gateway Vintage Racing is to blame !

After considering all the offers I've decided not to sell the Gremlin. I have a fondness for these old modifieds, and will continue to rebuild this one. The only reason I considered selling it was I had a line on another vintage car. I can admit to this, most people have no idea what it costs to restore one of these old racers. I was a little upset with some of the offers that were made on it. If they're going that cheap let me know where they are I could restore another one. I didn't intend to come off as cranky either but down here in SE MO there is no one to reminisce about the old days of open wheel modifieds. I guess I just wanted to do that on this board. You guys are lucky you can all get together in someones shop and bench race the old days. See you guys this summer, I'll catch up with you on your vintage race days.

I have no problem with either of you guys bench racing here...as long as it isn't demeaning to our group. A lot of the guys that ran these old cars don't get online, in fact a lot of the older guys in our group don't either.... If I could change that I would, but I think our questions sometimes fall on deaf ears.

I would like to encourage anyone who is just monitoring this board and has any info about the old days, to join the forum. We know you would love talking about the old days, and obviously we would love to have more knowledge of yesteryear.

Danny, glad to hear you're keeping that car. I would love to have it for my own, and would be very disappointed to see it leave the area. I have nothing to offer or the room to store it or I would have already picked it up...

To Bent Frame Racing....

:) Hi Danny,
I, like Randy Horton, am glad to hear you are going to finish the Gremlin. We met last year after the races at I-55. My dad, Dave White Sr, owns and drives the T-5 Pinto wagon. The pictures you posted of the car look cool! That's going to be a sharp ride...stay at it! Randy is right, there aren't a lot of the club members that utilize this website. I wish they would. My wife Valerie puts the results and point standings etc. on here and the GVRA website. We are hoping to do more with both websites this year. Hopefully, soon we will be getting some dates from Marc for our 2010 schedule. I think you would enjoy racing with us. The group is a super bunch of people, a lot of fun and very supportive of each other. My dad wil be 67 years old in a couple of days and has been racing on and off since 1961 (the same year I was born). That's where the saying on the back of our car came from..."We were Vintage before Vintage was cool". I overheard him telling Joe Hauck at the banquet a few weeks ago, that this is the most fun he has had racing. The respect on the track that these guys have for each other and the cars is uncommon these days in most classes. Also, if you start beating and banging, you will be asked not to return. We quit racing back in 1993 when the Limited Sportsmen cars were dropped at AARA. A couple of years ago, we went to the Lake Hill reunion and we were hooked! Now, dad is starting on a new Coupe. My uncle is starting on one too and I am trying to get to New York to pick up a Gremlin. Also, don't forget the War Wagon should be ready soon. I was over there last week and it's looking sharp. Wow! Maybe 3 Gremlins this year! If there is anything we can do to help you, PM me for phone numbers. Hope to see you this year Danny!
