Ground Rules Laid For 2004 World Of Outlaws Late Model Series

WEEDSPORT, NY.....The highly anticipated announcement from Boundless Motor Sports Racing, Inc. (OTCBB: BMSR) that declared establishment of a new dirt late model tour was made by Chief Operating Officer Bobby Hartslief in January.

Only weeks have passed since the creation of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and rumors continued to run rampant regarding the fledgling full-fender sanctioning body. Yet after being officially unveiled Feb. 3 during Race Weeks '04 at Volusia (Fla.) Speedway Park, the race world is now buzzing about the trackside excitement and the acclaimed 'Dirty Dozen' that form the backbone of America's newest all-star attraction.

"We're up and running now and continuing to put the pieces in place for a successful first year," Hartslief said. "Providing the best entertainment is our primary goal and that means maintaining a high level of interest throughout the season."

Hartslief's program centers around his 12 contracted drivers and the points chase that will ultimately recognize the world champion in World of Outlaws Late Model racing.

"The real beauty of this model is that there is interest at both ends of the ladder as the season goes on," Hartslief explained. "Acknowledging the overall Series champion is a given yet who will be a member of the Dirty Dozen next year will be just as significant. There's actually two competitions going as well as a battle for rookie of the year honors. Media should have a field day covering all the possibilities before it's all over."

Five-time national champion Scott Bloomquist heads a formidable list of charter members that comprise the inaugural WoO LM Series 'Dirty Dozen' and is joined by Mike Balzano, Rick Aukland, Steve Francis, Rick Eckert, Chub Frank, Bart Hartman, Darrell Lanigan, Dale McDowell, Billy Moyer, Dan Schlieper and Wendell Wallace.

Francis led flag-to-flag to capture the Florida Tour opener while Hartman charged from 11th starting position en route to staving off a last-lap blitz by Bloomquist to claim the second WoO Late Model A-Main.

"We've got the best drivers in the country among our core group but their only guarantee is a payout when they arrive, there's no favoritism once they get out on the track," said Hartslief, who has implemented the same 'Outlaws vs. Locals' formula that proved successful for a quarter-century with WoO founder Ted Johnson's sprint car contingent. He hired the services of Race Director Bobby Jackson and Chief Technical Inspector Walter Burson to adhere to his 'fair play' philosophy.

"Local team support remains vital at all our stops around the country. And any success will certainly keep the top-12 on their toes and that's one of the objectives. This new Series offers a great opportunity for every driver to be a member of the 'Dirty Dozen' the following year. If you want to be the best you have to race against the best," Hartslief added.

Release of the 2004 World of Outlaws Late Model Series schedule is planned for mid-February. More than 40 events at 25 tracks are expected to fill the initial agenda.
