OK,all u Goo Roo's,My Q is on a small block chevy, how important is the centerness of the cam bore.I'v got 1 and its of the thicker wall yr but cam bore or casing shift is just off and don't know if its worth building for a racecar...Anyone???Oh also it is a high nick block too

well, you dont give a helluva lot of useful info here; how is it off? to one side? too close to the cl of the crank? too far away? crooked as compared to the crank? my first thought is it's junk. whatever is going to drive the cam is not going to be correct. chain might compensate for it some, but this engine cant possibly run well. if the lifter bores are correct, then the cam is going to affect one bank of lifters differently than the other. cam timing is going to be affected. maybe distributor as well. we need more info to get specific, but no matter what, this engine is not going to be right. as far as racing it? no way. i wouldn't trust it in a street car or truck. wierd things are gonna happen.

If your just looking down the lifter bore, thinking that the cam lobe should be centered in the hole,Think again. The lobe is offset to the bore so that it will rotate the lifter.
