Highland Finish Line Controversy

With all the controversy going on over the Sportsman feature win, where exactly is the finish line? Is there even a line or marker there? It seems a LOT of people were sitting behind the flagstand and thought Thornton won. Can the Highland scorers respond since they are the ones making the call? Others opinions, too please!
 
There can't be an "or". That's why they have these problems. There needs to be a distinct mark or pole and everyone should know where it is.
 
dirt fan it is the same line but the people in the stands can see the orange pole it is right in line with the flag pole
