HIGHLAND, IL – Highland Speedway, located on the Madison County Fairgrounds in Highland, IL, has another great season of racing planned for 2004! Highland Speedway is a high-banked, 1/4-mile, semi-banked clay oval featuring Stock Car racing on Saturday nights, April through September.

The 2004 Season’s “Play Day” is Sunday, March 28. Pit gate opens29 beginning at noon and. Play Day Pit Passes are $10. Grandstands open at 12:30 and general admission to the grandstands is $2 for all ages.

The season officially gets underway with the Season Opener on April 3, 2004. During 2004, all Regular Events will have the following format: Pit gates open at 3:00 p.m. and grandstand gates open at 5:30 p.m. Hot Laps are at 5:45 p.m. and Late Model qualifying is at 6:15 p.m.; the racing program begins immediately after qualifying. Weekly events will feature UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Sportsman, Bombers, and returning for the 2004 Season, the Hornet class.

The 2004 Highland Speedway schedule includes several special events:

· Saturday, May 22 – The UMP Challenge of Champions makes the first of two stops at Highland Speedway. Support classes for the Special Saturday show are UMP Modifieds and the Sportsman class.

· Tuesday, June 8 – The annual MS Race for a Cure returns featuring UMP Late Models & UMP Modifieds. This annual event is to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis and is definitely one of the best shows of the season!

· Tuesday, July 6 – The UMP Summer Nationals series returns to Highland Speedway. This special show features some of the Nation’s top dirt late model drivers who will be racing for $6,000 to win. Support classes for the Summer Nationals event are UMP Modifieds and Sportsman.

· Wednesday, July 28 – The UMP Challenge of Champions makes another visit to Highland Speedway as the annual Fair Race moves from Monday to Wednesday evening. UMP Late Models will race for $5,000 to win. Support classes for this event are UMP Modifieds and Sportsman.

NOTE: Special admission prices are in effect at all special shows listed above and Highland Speedway’s Sportsman rules do not apply for these special events only.
