Hovis Racing Engines named UMP Modified Nat'l Engine Builder Champion!

The following owners/drivers utilizing HRE's engines; Jimmy Owens, US Nationals Championship at Eldora,and National Points Champion; Chad Kindler, Illinois State Champion, Third Place in National Points; John Seets, Eighth Place in National Points,and Montgomery County Speedway Track Champion, Godfrey Speedway Track Champion, and MO State Champion; Jim Shereck, Florida State Champion,and top twenty points finisher. In addition, Bob Bittle, Jay Jones, and Everett Bradham finished in the top fifty in National Points.

Additionally, HRE collectivey had 102 feature wins marking the first time any engine builder ever achieved triple digit wins in a single season. This is of course in addition to some 40 other non-UMP feature wins.

Over Thanksgiving, HRE will be attending the UMP Awards Banqet and Trade Show in Louisville Kentucky. At that time HRE will receive the Manufacturer's Cup National Engine Builder Award and the US Nationals Engine Builder Award for the Points Championship. Jimmy Owens will receive $100,000.00 for the National Points Championship.

In just a few short days, a very prestigous award will be presented to 3 gentlemen that have tweaked, ported and honed their way into the national spotlight. This award recognizes a small group of dedicated professionals who strive to be the very best they can be. Needless to say, their many sleepless nights away from their families, countless hours of R&D and the relentless dedication to this sport has finally paid off with the national recognition they deserve. Asa, Al & Stacey enjoy your time in the national spotlight while you guys can; you've provided a very potent arsenal to a very fine group of talented hotshoes. Our hats off to the guys at Hovis and the drivers who provided all of us with a very memorable and exciting season. Good luck next year guys in your quest for another national championship.
