Lebanon,Mo.-Oklahoma's Jason Hughes took advantage of the redraw to capture the pole for the 5th Annual Misouri Nationals and led all 30 laps as the USMTS Modifieds helped open up the Silver Anniversary Season of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway Sat Night.

The Start of the feature saw Hughes and arch rival 8 time National Champion Kelly Shryock start side by side with both drivers exchanging slide jobs early on the quick I-44 Clay with Dustin Boney in tow followed by local LateModel standout Leslie Essary and ILL hotshoe Micheal Long.

Hughes would keep about 3 cars ahead of Shryock as D.Boney kept the pressure on for 2nd place.

The first caution waved on lap 5 as Matt Dotson came to a halt in turn 2.On the restart 2007 I-44 Modified champion Tony Jackson Jr along with others got caught-up in a pile up in turn 4.

When the green waved again,Hughes would find Dustin Boney glued to his bumper with Shryock in tow as Essary and Long continued there battle as Johhny Bone Jr and John Allen were coming quickly forn there 13th and 14th place starting spots and Greg Skaggs was charging also as the top 10 were pulling away.On lap 15,Allen became the new player in the chase and moved into the runner-up spot and applied lots of pressure to the leader Hughes as the duo went side-by side for 3 solid laps as 2007 National champion Jason Krohn was working his way to the top 5.Following a lap 25 restart,Hughes was able to pull away again as Shryock batled Allen for 2nd and made the move around on lap 27.From there Hughes held on to grab the victory with Shryock,Allen,Bone Jr and Skaggs completing the top 5.

"I love this place(I-44 Speedway),Last night in LaMonte,Mo I made a small mistake and Kelly took advantage of it,but tonight when the redraw took place and we both started up front I was determined to make up for it.""The track was smooth, quick and racy tonight with 2 pretty good grooves out there."quoted Hughes. The victory was his second of the Series and moved him into 3rd in the Mo-Kan region of the USMTS Touring series.

In support action,Lebanon's Lonnie Henderson captured the FactoryStock feature win with Matt Brookshire,Kevin Crider and Dusty Rhoades following in a tight battle all race long.

Tyler Brown grabbed the early lead and held off the challanges of defending champion josh Woody in capturing the B-Mod feature.

Th Bomber feature saw Shawn Strong jump out to the early lead and never looked back as he captured the Bomber feature win with Chris Morelock,Tim Jones,Kevin Morrison and Joe Francis completing the top 5.

The Central Bank Points Series will start Next Sat April 5th as the chase for the 2008 championships begin with action in the UMP SuperLateModels,USRA Modifieds,B-Mods,FactoryStocks,Bombers, and Rookies. Also added to the race card will be the SuperStock Class as gates open at 5PM with hotlaps at 6:45 and Racing at 7:30 with Starnes AutoBody and Glass the race sponsor.
