"Racing Is Love"
I've been wanting to go to this Big River Sand Drags for a good while now to check things out and what I found was embarrassing. They were having some sort of problem with the tree and all of a sudden (before 5 p.m.) they called the races off for the night!!!!!!

I don't know who the owner of this track is but I'll NEVER, EVER go back again. I only saw one guy walking around playing with the tree before they were called off.... Hey, GAS IS $3 A GALLON JERK! Are you going to refund my money for gas and time spent to go there. When I was leaving I came across a guy from Kentucky who drove FOUR HOURS JUST TO GET THERE!!! Whoooooooooooaaaa was he pizzed.... He told me about a couple of other guys from Poplar Bluff and one other from Cape that was coming up that they couldn't get a hold of. The guy from Kentucky told us they were having the same problems a couple of weeks agao and they hadn't done a thing to fix things.... This track won't be in business long if they keep doing things like that. I know there were some mad, mad people leaving there the same time I did. All I had to do was drive an hour and a half back to St. Louis. If I had been one of those guys making an 8hour trip I'd be looking to kick some butt or I would want some money for my expenses.

I am sorry that you feel that way and that our track made a bad first impression on you. We have driven a long way to go to races for them to be rained out etc.
But, things do happen and are sometimes out of the realm of control to solve in a few minutes. Did they think that they had the problem fixed from a few weeks ago, probably so. I am sure that our track owners will be working hard to fix this problem for future races. I promise you that if you do decide to come back and come on a big weekend, for example the Midwest National on sept. 2nd, that you will not be disapointed.
Hope the rest of your weekend turns out better!

Well as frustrating as it was for all of us, it was after 5 p.m. when they were called. I understand not too long after they got called off they started working on the lights again and got them fixed. They held a test and tune session for those who stuck around.

I am takin duckydoo2's side!!!

Like someone said earlier this year "Its just a matter of time."I dont blame alot of racers being mad.i could see if it was a rain out or somthing like that because if it looks like bad weather and u do get rained out u kind of expect that. When the weather is clear and races are cancled do to computer problems ?????? Try setting the computer up earlier in the day or earlier that week to see if it works rather thatn setting the thing up 30 min prior to practice. I have came down and raced a few times this year and it dosent look like there are alot of bikes and cars as ther has been in the past years.Ithere ahs been improvements like painted gaurdrails which look good.Looks like the water truck is in working order and a new tractor was purchased!!! I went to michigan earlier this year and thought they had a pretty good place.I liked that track and I liked mississsippi.I would go there more but I go to big river because its close.I hear there is a track in Kansas City.If some one will let me know if ther are other tracks in the tri state area I may start checking those tracks out.If big river keeps making racer mad we may need those other tracks!!!! I am gonna side with duckydoo2 100% on this one!!!!

BRSD track

My main concern is the guy driving the tractor, he has no clue what's going on most of the time, Jason or Spongebob has to tell the guy when to drag the track. When Jason drags the track it hooks much better and is much smoother. As far as the lights it would be nice to have them hooked up earlier in the day and tested so people don't waste the trip when something does go wrong with them ;) . I like BRSD's as it is convenient for me to get to, and is usually a fast track!

maybe.....

Maybe the judges should have taken a spot near the track instead of in the tower, so they could flag the races like the old days........:D

Some times you just have bad timing and things just don't go right "s--t happens"! But I also feel that you also make your own luck, and i've had my share of " it happens". Being prepared means alot and i have many times not been prepared and not got things done when they should have. These things reflect on my performance and attendance but you get out of it what you put into it! Extra preparation goes along way! This track can be one of the best tracks in the midwest if not the country! That doesn't happen over night but it does take alot of blood sweat and tears to make it happen along with luck and money " lots of money" but you have to start somewhere. Upset racers

numbers 573-358-5009 and 573-315-8019 and my emial jasnchristi97@sbcglobal.net and everyone knows that you can send private msgs on this site, so please send your suggestions because we are always open to suggestions, and come to the banquet at the end of the year when the rules are voted on, instead of complaining about the rules after they are in place, and we do not make them, the classes make the rules...... it doesnt happen overnight and things have gotten much better over the years.

Jason, just wanted to say the track was much better this weekend, kudos to you guys. Racing seemed to be much more fun this time out! :D

I for one will be coming back!! I FINALLY got some time and made it down Sunday night for the races. I didn't do so well, but that's beside the point. This was my 1st trip to BRSD. The track was smooth, everyone was really friendly and helpful. I ran into some people I had met 1 time a few years back, and they were great. I can remember some of the people I met and saw coming to Monroe City and racing back when I was a kid! I had a really good time. We need to support this track and help to improve it. The alternative is to be driving to KC? That is just too far to go on a regular basis.

I had a great time this weekend.... How did you folks like the "King of the Hill" competition??? Thanks to some great sponsors and some individual sponsors we almost came up with $300 to give to both winners ($295) to go along with the trophies... Plus between the Dreher family, Ski Cola, the Driver's Seat, the Harris family and some others I don't think we had one kid come to the track and not leave with something..... Thanks to all!!
