One of the most popular weeks in Central Illinois motorsports is back once again as the MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey's General Store makes the 4 day, 4 track journey known as Illinois Sprint Week.

Round 1 pushes off during the Madison County Fair at the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois on Wednesday, July 23. The tight 1/4 mile dirt oval is one of the smallest MOWA sees each year, but the racing action is tight and it happens fast.

Round 2 the series doesn't go too far as they head to the 3/8 mile Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois on Thursday, July 24 The Kevin and Tammy Gundaker owned and prepared oval has become a showplace in the STL area for motorsports, and MOWA has put on some great races in the past. Expect more of the same.

Friday, July 25 the series heads back home to the 1/4 Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois for Round 3. The tight but racy confines that most drivers are familiar with the Morgan County Fairgrounds oval which is known to produce some great sprint car racing throughout the many years of racing at the facility.

Saturday, July 26 the 4th and Final round of Illinois Sprint Week 2014 heads to the smallest track on the series schedule, the 1/5 mile Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. Macon is small, high banked, and FAST. Macon has produced great sprint car racing with the series before and Saturday should be no different.

The more of the names being reported the better the show is sounding. Sunny now in Bellevile and the weather will be better for this show.

Man, after experiencing Indiana Sprint Week, would love to see some non-winged action around here more often, the National USAC boys, like Darland, Bacon, and Hines.

Brady Bacon is racing this week with MOWA...

I like non-wing sprints as well, they just can't seem to make them work at tracks around here.

Congrats to Rico Abreu on the win last night. Cool as well to see Tony back in a 410 with MOWA. Tonight IL Sprint Week hits Jacksonville then Macon tomorrow. Should be a good next 2 nights.
