FINDLAY, OH (October 7, 2008)—After two very successful seasons of dirt late model competition in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, the Findlay, OH based Independent Racing Series recently announced they will not continue operations for the 2009 season.

Shortly after some long and lengthy negotiations, an announcement was made that Guy Webb, President of the O’Reilly Allstar Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series, had purchased the series and will revamp and turn the series into the O’Reilly Allstar Late Model Series.

Dean Miracle, the man at the helm and founder of one of the most unique racing groups will not continue as director of the series, but instead make his way closer to home to promote the Waynesfield Motorsports Park located in Waynesfield, OH for the upcoming season. The main reason for Miracle’s decision to do this was due to health related issues.

“My health just won’t allow me to travel up and down the road like I used to,” stated Dean Miracle. “I want to personally thank all of the drivers, fans, promoters and my staff who helped make this possible and with out all of them, the series would not be where it was at. The Allstars will go on under Guy (Webb) and I know he will try to keep it one of the best tours around, if not better,” stated Miracle.

“Myself, along with the rest of the staff of the Independent Racing Series would like to thank Dean (Miracle) for his determination and dedication to one of the best touring series around. We wish him the very best in promoting Waynesfield,” stated Chris Tilley, P.R. Director of the Independent Racing Series.

Further information on the 2008 Championship Awards Banquet will be released in the upcoming weeks upon completion with the details being released on the series website located at www.irsracing.net .
