Is the track going to open in 2013?

While I saw no posts about A mods, or anything to do with the dirt side of things... i did hear they are going to a more stock 'street stock'...

Rumor was the tire rule would be....if you cant put it on your car and drive legally back and forth to work, you couldnt run it..Id rather run an A or H, E mod. Cheap if you cut one down, and I dont have to spend 100 dollars on a new one! I buy them used by the dozen!! For a hundred dollars!

Lets use common sense guys.... if you want to use a hard tire... use the hockey puck... aka G60.. they can be bought new for 69.00 from southwest speed..15 inch tires for street cars are getting more expensive by the day!!! More so than BRAND NEW racing tires..Im not against cheaper to operate stock cars.. I DO share your enthusiasm.. But to go buy street tires that I cant run elsewhere, that are more expensive than a comparable racing tire... I will go just race one nite a week instead of two..1).Now the closer to stock limited motors, like Allied runs are great, so are vacuum motors, although even they are getting expensive. 2.)Stock floor pans, such as the old cruiser cars which dot the landscape could be resurected to run. stock type suspension, with one weight jack, (ie left rear) stock mount shocks etc.. Hows this to help price? 3.)NO beadlock wheels! thats 68 dollars instead of 110 dollars... Yes some of you are too uneducated to know about the Series 52 wheel that has a rolled inner bead, so do go crying that your tire will come off the bead, and you can live without it..and of course you can buy used to save, Im looking at this from the "Building a car aspect" MANY more places to SAVE!! If you WANT to save.. But a street tire just doesnt fit the bill. Show me a decent street tire I can buy for 69 bucks that doesnt have a sidewall that will be cut down on first contact, and Ill consider it!!

Very true Dryslick

For an established owner to sell off 10 inch wheels and go to 8's, then purchase all new tires, just to spend more money per tire than he would have with an asphalt takeoff, or A or H, E mod or G60.. Is just a stretch of the pocketbook..Not to mention... A LARGER overall cost!! Hence LESS RACERS... This is supposed to be a cheap class, and there are many ways to keep it that way.. like stock head.. completely stock... stock type valves, springs, and retainers, rocker studs, pinned only, not screwin type....stock intake, no Brezinskis, or Bowties There is a steel intake for Vortec heads.. 169 from your GM dealer..... Or we could say... oem heads, block, rocker arms, rods, cranks, and intakes, no port of polish, surfacing only, no angle milling,..Stock rearend only welded... No spools of ANY kind.. C clip eliminators allowed on approved rears..stock length rear arms in stock location, with oem type bushings..rear fender wells and trunk left intact except for tire clearance. This is a step to go to cheaper more STOCK cars.. I could write a terribly restrictive rulebook, that would enflame the entire racing community...BUT... the technologically advanced thinkers, would pull a Smokey Yunick and find a way to "legal cheating". Always happens... but I urge the management at Benton to think about this situation, and brainstorm....you will find a happy medium... good luck, carry on, and dont quit or put yourself in the poorhouse, or cause the racers to do the same.. Looks like that motor is a stock timebomb to turn any rpms, after you blow 1 or 2 ofthem up its still expersive .leave the rules alone don't mess with them, there are a lot of cars around that's the ,ones I think u need not start something new & have to come up with a hole new bunch of cars .

While agree with you on keeping what we have...I was making points to the extreme of cheap...And those motors would no more blow up than any other.. not if they were properly assembled and clearanced, as any engine should be..

Spoke with Clyde yesterday at the racing auction in Cape. A Mods are going to happen, sounds like most likely UMP, I sure hope all of you people that are begging for A Mods are going to support this class and the track.

Im with you mindblower..Several guys did that at Fredericktown years ago, and rarely showed.. Then they cried when they were promptly dropped...I beleive it was shorthly after that the "NO CRYBABIES" sign was put at the entrance.

I wish they would clarify the SS/purestreet/purestock rules. It will let me know what tires and wheels to mount, and buy more of, and which heads to put on..Not to mention shocks, cam...intake, distributor, carb, heads etc..Do they not understand what we are asking for?

I hope the B Mod is a true B Mod-3 link and leaf only rear suspension. No high dollar shocks. Remember we are not running for A Mod or Late Model Money! Hoffman has done very well at his track with 3 link and leaf only and Pro WB "type" shocks and American Racer G15-PLEASE no Hoosiers!

Although many classes and rules have been discussed lately, nothing has been set in stone just yet. The promotors came in with an idea of what they want, however those ideas have been changing somewhat. They have been in contact with many local racers and are getting a feel for what will show up. I can tell you with some surity that classes and rules will be finalized and out very soon, hopefully by this time next week.
Please be understanding with whatever they decide.
