Belleville, IL: Mike Hess claimed victory in the 30 lap Gateway midget feature at Belle-Clair Speedway Sunday night. Hess started outside the front and led every lap of the non stop feature. A furious battle raged on behind Hess with Dave Darland, Brad Loyet, Brett Anderson, and Lucke Icke. Hess began to experience motor problems on lap 25 but was able to hang on for the victory. Darland finished second, with Anderson, Icke, and Loyet rounding out the top five.
Ryan Chriswell passed Tom Dickerman on lap 6 of the 20 lap 600cc micro sprint feature and raced side by side with Dereck King and Dickerman for the rest of the race. King pulled even several times but had to settle for second.
Dickerman, Kasey Barnhouse, and Dustin Barks rounded out the top five.
