(Warrensburg, MO) ULMA and 24 Raceway in Moberly will try once again to complete the ULMA Spring Challenge this Saturday night, May 9th. The event was originally scheduled for mid April; however, the race was postponed by Mother Nature. Officials with the association were extremely pleased to learn the make-up date presented by 24 Raceway fit right into the ULMA schedule due to the fact there are no other ULMA points-earning events on May 9th taking place. One other exciting aspect of this event for ULMA drivers is this race is now a double-points night, drivers will be credited with two finishes for one! This should allow more drivers to make their way to the exciting 4/10-mile track. 24 Raceway is located just 3.5 miles east of US 63 on US 24. The raceway is celebrating 20-years this season by hosting "Dirt Track Racing at its Best." The track will host a car show at the track beginning at 9 A.M. Saturday, May 9th until 3 P.M.

With the help of Pepsi Americas, Columbia and Central Missouri, this event is now one of the best-ever payouts for ULMA drivers ever offered. The race pays $150 to start with non-qualifiers earning $50. Pit passes are $25 with general grandstand admission only $17! Children 12 and under are free. The weekly racing excitement featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, and 4-Cylinders will also be part of the evening's events. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps begin at 6 p.m., and racing kicks off at 7 p.m. Late model drivers must comply with all ULMA competition rules and possess a 2009 ULMA membership card. ULMA pre-tech inspections begin at 4:30 and must be completed by the time hot laps roll onto the raceway. Association membership will be available on site for $50. The entry fee for ULMA competitors is $50. There will be a $150 bonus hard-charger award given to one driver at the conclusion of the race. This award is presented by SalesForce Solutions, HeartlandMotorsports.com, and Smothers Auto Sales. For more information on 24 Raceway visit the official Web site at www.24racewayinmoberly.com or call (660) 269-9300.

Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri will be in action again this coming Friday, may 8th for another action-packed night of late model racing. Car counts have been extremely healthy at the track with a nice mix of ULMA and CRATE-style late models. You can find out more about Callaway Raceway at www.callawayraceways.com. This year, if the Friday night races get rained out at the raceway, races will be held on Sunday evenings.

Butler Motor Speedway (BMS) in Butler, Missouri will also return to action this weekend. ULMA member drivers may earn points at BMS this year. This weekend will be the track's second week of competition as last week's action was washed out by rain. For general rules and track information drivers and fans may visit the official BMS Web site at www.butlermotorspeedway.webs.com.
